A bit 'bout myself, then: I'm Liz, and I hail from Buffalo, New York. I recently earned my bachelor's degree in English literature at the Franciscan University of Steubenville, Ohio. Aside from reading and writing, I spend my time drinking exorbitant amounts of coffee, walking my Shi Tzu, Oscar, and crying and/or stressing about my mostly undertermined future. Speaking of which... I've wanted to be a bonafide, real-life professional writer since I was old enough to hold a pen (or a red crayola crayon, as was more likely the case). In middle school and beyond, I became infatuated with my own romantic notion of the writer's lifestyle (intimate gatherings with the wine-guzzling literati, posing pensively for book jackets, etc. etc.) A decade or so later, my aspirations have assumed a more realistic tenor. Currently, my fiction has appeared in or is forthcoming in the following online publications: Sub-Lit, DiddleDog, Mud Luscious, The Battered Suitcase, and Opium Magazine. 3 of my poems are forthcoming in Clockwise Cat. This site will, I hope, serve as a platform to market my wares. Get the word out there. Or it will simply serve as my own self-indulgent arena where I can flaunt my poetic carbaret. A little corner of cyberspace where I can freely sound my barbaric yawp from the rooftops, regardless of who's listening. After all, I too am not a bit tamed.
I also work as a slushpile reader for Sub-Lit, a fiercely dissident ezine of sex, literature, and rock 'n roll that I urge you to check out.
